FROM THE KITCHEN TO YOUR HAIR.

I love the convenience of store bought hair products but as per my experience, homemade products are more effective than store bought.A few kitchen staples you can use on your hair & their benefits.

1.Aloe Vera Juice;
I use it as a leave-in conditioner. It has the same PH as your hair & will help close your cuticles.Promotes hair growth.Works like a natural conditioner for your dry scalps thus helping with eradication of dandruff.It has moisturizing properties & helps with hair elasticity.

2. Rosemary Infused Oil;
Rosemary herb stimulates hair growth,helps with dandruff,strengthens & restores luster to your hair.Stuff dry rosemary sprigs in your oil of choice & use that oil to moisturize/seal your hair. You can remove the sprigs when your oil changes colour. I use coconut oil for my infusions.

3.Flaxseed Gel;
Flaxseed has mucilage properties so its just perfect for a holding gel. Gives your curl definition,leaving it soft & shiny. Place 1/4 cup flaxseeds in your saucepan/sufuria. Add 1 cup of water,let it boil for 10 minutes while stirring every few minutes. Let it cool & strain.Use it the same way you use store bought gels like eco styler gel.

4.Fenugreek powder;
This is my favourite Ayurveda powder.It strengthens,thickens your hair & helps with shedding.It also stimulate hair growth.I buy the seeds(trust issues lol) then grind them. If you buy the seeds,grind into a a super fine powder. I added the powder in my henna paste & it dissolved.

5.Hibiscus/Green Tea;
I have shared before how I love tea rinses & these two are my favourites. They help with shedding & also stimulate hair growth.

MOMMY ESSENTIALS

As a first mom I'm always clueless,most times lol, but this essentials have made mommy life easier.

1.Catch It All Bib;

When I was shopping for my baby I didn't think bibs were as important so I bought 4 fabric bibs. We managed with the bibs till I introduced solids to my baby.The first meal I used all the bibs.I was so confused,now all my bibs are wet what will I use for the next meal.I used her vests hehehe but I just had to find a better alternative. I googled & I found catch-it-all bibs,aka just wipe & you are done bibs. Luckily I found some at Biashara Street & I have never washed a bib again.

2.Potato Masher;

A potato masher is great cause you get to define how smooth you want your baby food to be. A blender is great for the first month but afterwards when you don't want super smooth food, masher will do & it is also easier to clean.By now you've figured I'm a lazy mother hehehe jk.

3.Shampoo/Conditioner Eye Shield;

This is great when you start that natural hair journey lol. You can even use with baby soaps cause some have irritants. They have elastic band so they are gentle on baby scalp/head. Don't be fooled by the photo,she loves it.I got mine at Tuskys.

4. Wide Tooth Comb;

I think everyone should use a wide tooth comb.It is gentle on your kinks,coils or coils. Combing my daughter's hair is super easy breezy.

POST-PARTUM HAIR CARE

I started prepping for post-partum hair while I was pregnant.I tweaked my routine & started to deep condition weekly,tea rinses & low manipulation styles.

Deep Condition same as here but I have added eggs.

Tea Rinses
On my previous post here I only did herbal & onion water rinse but I discovered black tea which is mainly for helps with shedding.

>>Black Tea Rinse
Unlike the herbal & onion water rinse,this you do before you wash you hair.Tea is drying to you hair.Steep tea bags tea bags in hot water for like 30 minutes to cool off.Section your hair & then pour the tea on your scalp.Let is sit for 20-30 minutes & then shampoo & condition as usual.

Benefits of Black Tea Rinse
1.Strengthens hair.
2.Adds shine.
3.Stops shedding.
4.Darkens hair.(black tea is a natural dye,it may tint your hair)

Styling
I'm still doing low manipulation styles to protect my edges.
